Kids will be kids!

We have been very adventurous the last month or so.  We had an amazing time in Atlantic City, gambling and walking on the Boardwalk.  I would say its like a Las Vegas outlet, but on the beach.  Restaurants are a lot cheaper and the gambling tables weren't as high a limit unlike Vegas (which i mean u can bet lower at more tables than Vegas but there is a lot of high limit tables as well). We were at a roulette table and a guy dropped two grand in ten minutes. So it still has the atmosphere, but us not having all the money in the world think it a little bit more affordable.  The weekend John's parents came out, we also ventured out to Freeport, NJ (on the shore) which was nice because we visited John's Godparents.  We had a lovely dinner and fun with people that I have never met.  So much fun that we didn't get home until about 1:30.  Rome was a trooper and fell asleep during dinner so we got to have a couple of drinks and enjoy ourselves!  This weekend we went to downtown Philly (which is only a 15 min train ride from our house) and decided to go to a farmers' market.  Yet, it ended up being an art festival at Rittenhouse Square.  So we hung out, enjoyed the art and went to an early lunch.  John had his favorite, Fried Chicken and Waffles.  Then we shopped for  a little bit, then enjoyed a coffee while Rome took a nap. We decided to get dinner later on in the evening at a contemporary Indian restaurant--called Bindi.  Rome loves rice so we got him rice with exotic spices....And 5 mins into it, he threw up everywhere!  (When I mean everywhere,  I mean everywhere).   Sometimes when he tries new things he doesn't react good to new spices.  The staff, however, was super nice so that made it easier.  We decided to leave because who likes to eat dinner when your child throws up all over you, not me!  He has done this on 2 other occasions, once at Fratellos (San Clemente) but I think at that time, he had the flu.  The other time, at True Food Kitchen (Newport Beach--if you haven't tried it, John loves it.)  There, he was trying a unique Thai spice, but,I can't specifically remember the name of it.  I have to remind myself that being 1 of 11, that we did this to my Mom more then three times.  LOL. I'll have to ask her,  but I'm sure we all know the answer. Well, goodnight and enjoy your Sunday evening.  Until next time,  this is Bex signing out. XOXO.

Easter in New York

Easter was great, as we spent so much time with my Aunt Sandra in her quaint little town in Long Island. We were so blessed with family time over great wine and amazing food! We stayed up late enjoying stories and a lot of laughs. We also got to spend a little time in Lower Manhattan at the Statue of Liberty which was amazing to see up close and there were no lines and the weather couldn't have been better.  We ended our trip with a nice dinner at a little French restaurant which was a perfect end to a great weekend!!!

Finally a Place Called Home!

Well at last we found a place to live close by John's work. We live in Cherry Hill, in a 2 bedroom apartment about 1150 sq. ft. which is way bigger than what we are use to! It is in a tower and we are staring right into the tree line with a spacious balcony. It's about 15mins from downtown Philly which is perfect because we wanted to live close to a big city. The building was built in the 60's but has been remodeled. It has a washer and dryer, dishwasher etc. which i haven't had in the last 4 years or so!!! Even though the weather isn't like San Clemente, it has been fun so far. It has snowed for a brief couple hours and has been 75 degrees. This summer will be interesting with no beach but we have a brand new club house that has a an infinity pool, a little movie theater, cyber cafe, gym and even a hair salon! All in all i am excited for a new adventure here in New Jersey.

New Jersey

John and I just drove across country ( with my brother Johnny too) from california to Jersey. We are gracious for the in-laws for taking our baby boy Rome for 2 weeks so we could drive out and get somewhat settled. It was a long drive, the adventure was quite interesting. The second day we ran into a little bit of trouble, our tires on the trailer which had my mustang on it caught on fire. We ended up putting it out real quick and it only delayed us 3 hrs, really not that bad but a little stressful! Throughout the drive it was long and restless days but we always ended up at the end of the day at a nice bar with a cold drink :) We are now in Jersey adjusting to a different life from the OC but it looks great and we are excited ! Just finding the right apartment seems to be a little hard because i am picky on where we rest our head! Well i will keep you posted on our adventures on the east coast !!
